Why this is on the board
Still relatively few people work on keeping powerful AI systems safe, and the field grows mainly through new people learning the trade. In eight days you teach newcomers the basics of AI safety or AI policy and improve teaching materials that later groups will use. If some of them later end up in this work, your knowledge carries through into the work of others.
