Epoch AI grew from about 20 to 70 people in 2026, and policymakers worldwide use the figures on AI progress that the team publishes. You do no research yourself and do not decide who is hired. What you do is keep the hiring process careful enough that good researchers do not drop out because of a missed email or a lost work test.
