Why this is on the board
From 2027 the EU Cyber Resilience Act requires manufacturers to make software and hardware secure by design, and the RDI, the Dutch digital infrastructure inspectorate, is building up supervision of it now. Whoever starts now helps decide which risks the inspectorate tackles first and how strict the rules turn out in practice. Because the RDI also supervises AI in products, that way of working will probably reappear there.
