Why this is on the board
FAR AI tests new AI models from OpenAI and Anthropic, among others, before they are released, and does the same for governments such as the European Commission: the team deliberately tries to make the systems go off the rails, and what it finds, the developers often fix before millions of people use the model. As head of engineering you build the software and the team behind that search, so whatever you improve carries through into every test that follows.
