This role is on our board because we think it is an unusually effective way to spend a career. How we reason about it

This board is still in beta. The reason below is our judgement — tell us if you think we have it wrong. Give feedback
Why this is on the board
SPAR pairs people who want to start out in AI safety, the research into how to keep powerful AI systems safe, with experienced mentors. Every hour you take their scheduling, questions and deadlines off their hands goes to research, for all participants at once. How smoothly a round runs partly decides whether newcomers stay in the field afterwards.
About the role
Operations generalist helping run a large AI safety research fellowship and support mentees throughout each programme round.

What do you make of this?
The board is still in beta, so this is exactly the moment to say what you think. A vacancy we have missed, a judgement you do not share, something that does not work — all of it helps.
