This role is on our board because we think it is an unusually effective way to spend a career. How we reason about it

This board is still in beta. The reason below is our judgement — tell us if you think we have it wrong. Give feedback
Why this is on the board
AI safety — making sure increasingly powerful AI systems stay safe and do what we intend — is a small field in the Netherlands, and people who want to get into it often don't know where to start. As community manager you point newcomers towards courses, events and vacancies, so your work counts mainly through what others go on to do. How much that achieves depends on who comes in and stays.
About the role
Welcome new members, strengthen community relationships, and guide people towards deeper involvement in chapter activities.

What do you make of this?
The board is still in beta, so this is exactly the moment to say what you think. A vacancy we have missed, a judgement you do not share, something that does not work — all of it helps.

Start with our free course: about 100 minutes in six short units, at your own pace, with no sign-up. To go further, apply for the EA Fellowship: five weeks of reading and discussion in a small group. Also free, but selective.
