The work itself, detecting fraud and optimising payments, does not tackle an urgent global problem: the leverage is in the salary. If you donate a large share of a senior ML salary at Adyen every year to charities that demonstrably achieve a lot per euro (earning to give), you can probably do more good than in many jobs at charities themselves.
