Why this is on the board

The work itself, building data pipelines for a payments company, does not contribute to an urgent problem. The leverage lies in the salary: a senior engineer in Amsterdam who donates a substantial share of an above-average income to well-evidenced charities (earning to give) is in effect paying for the work of others who tackle such a problem directly.
