Why this is on the board
The work itself, AI for payments and fraud detection, does not tackle a global problem: the leverage is in the salary. A senior engineer who earns well and gives a large share of it to charities that demonstrably achieve a lot per euro can pay for the work of several people elsewhere. That approach is called earning to give, and it only works if you keep up the giving for years.
