Performance Engineer
IMCAmsterdam
Why this is on the board
Winning microseconds for a trading firm does not itself help any person or animal. The leverage is in the salary: trading firms like IMC usually pay engineers generously (the vacancy names no figure), and if you give a large share of that to well-researched charities, you can sometimes pay for the work of several people at such a charity. That route is called earning to give.

About the role
Technology is at the heart of modern electronic trading. IMC is seeking highly driven individuals to apply quantitative research techniques and practical experimentation to the technology used by exchanges, connectivity providers, and our own systems. You will develop new strategies to outpace other market participants in the highly competitive world of ultra-low-latency trading.
