The work itself, using AI to improve the operations of a payments company, does not tackle an urgent problem. The leverage is in the salary of a leadership role at Adyen: if you give a large share of it, year after year, to charities that research shows achieve a lot per euro, you pay for work that would probably otherwise not get done (this is called earning to give).
