Graduate Hardware Engineer
IMCAmsterdam
Why this is on the board
The leverage here is not in the work – making trading systems faster helps nobody directly – but in the salary, which at trading firms like IMC is well above average even for graduates. If you give away a fixed share of it every year to well-researched charities, you can probably achieve more this way than in many jobs at a charity itself. That is called earning to give, and it only works if you keep up the giving.
