This role is on our board because we think it is an unusually effective way to spend a career. How we reason about it

Why this is on the board
The Centre for Effective Altruism runs conferences, supports student groups and manages the online forum where many people first discover how to help others as much as possible with their career or donations. So you would not be working on a single problem yourself, but on the place where others choose what to work on. Note: this is an open application for possible future roles, not an actual vacancy.
About the role
A general expression of interest for possible future roles supporting the effective altruism community. - Flag interest in roles across events, groups support, online resources, and operations. - Simple first step with light initial application; further stages include work tests and interviews. - Rolling review, with a typically higher bar than during active hiring rounds. - Around half of staff are remote; candidates are encouraged to apply even if unsure of fit.

What do you make of this?
The board is still in beta, so this is exactly the moment to say what you think. A vacancy we have missed, a judgement you do not share, something that does not work — all of it helps.
