This role is on our board because we think it is an unusually effective way to spend a career. How we reason about it

This board is still in beta. The reason below is our judgement — tell us if you think we have it wrong. Give feedback
Why this is on the board
Mirror life (organisms built from mirrored versions of the molecules of all natural life) does not exist yet, but 38 scientists warned in Science in December 2024 that a mirror bacterium could cause unprecedented harm to ecosystems and health. If scientists and governments agree now not to make it, nobody will have to keep it under control later. This fund organises exactly those conversations, though your own share depends on whether you end up in science, policy or operations.
About the role
The Mirror Biology Dialogues Fund (MBDF) invites expressions of interest from individuals passionate about addressing the risks of "mirror life"—synthetic organisms built from mirror-image molecules.

What do you make of this?
The board is still in beta, so this is exactly the moment to say what you think. A vacancy we have missed, a judgement you do not share, something that does not work — all of it helps.
