Data Quality Engineer
IMCAmsterdam
Why this is on the board
The work itself — monitoring data quality for a trading firm — does not tackle an urgent global problem, so the leverage lies in the salary, which in this sector is often well above average. If you donate a large share of it year after year to charities with strong evidence behind them, you can achieve more than in many jobs at a charity. That choice is called earning to give, and it stands or falls on whether you actually keep up the giving.

About the role
At IMC , data shapes trading decisions across a wide range of financial products. The Data Quality team owns the integrity, completeness, and timeliness of the datasets our Quantitative Researchers and Traders rely on. As a Data Quality Engineer, you design the statistical methods that detect, characterise, and quantify issues in those datasets. Additionally, you own historical datasets that turn raw vendor and internal feeds into pricing-grade inputs and output.
