A board appoints and assesses the director and approves the strategy, budget and annual accounts. At a small organisation like Vegan Hospitality, which is trying to move the hospitality sector towards plant-based food, a single board member with knowledge of fundraising, finance or the sector can determine how much the whole team achieves. One kitchen that changes its menu cooks for many guests every day.
