This role is on our board because we think it is an unusually effective way to spend a career. How we reason about it

This board is still in beta. The reason below is our judgement — tell us if you think we have it wrong. Give feedback

Why this is on the board

European governments are now settling how they deal with AI, and whoever supplies them with worked-out arguments and concrete proposals helps determine which way that goes — for example, whether fully autonomous, general AI becomes the norm or smaller, more manageable systems instead. In this role you write those proposals; the decision lies with policymakers, but one well-founded argument can end up in rules that apply to millions of people.

About the role

Lead strategy for a pro-human AI path and turn it into policy-ready recommendations.

What do you make of this?

The board is still in beta, so this is exactly the moment to say what you think. A vacancy we have missed, a judgement you do not share, something that does not work — all of it helps.
