Why this is on the board
Companies in cultivated meat and precision fermentation rarely founder on their technology, but on the capital needed to scale up — two Dutch players recently went under on exactly that. In this role you help decide which of those companies do get that money, and on what terms; Invest-NL has put some €13 million into it so far.
About the role
We think the Netherlands needs to become more sustainable and more innovative. AgriFood is an important sector for the Netherlands, but also one with a relatively large footprint. Fortunately there are entrepreneurs with good plans to do something about that. As an impact investor, Invest-NL is there to finance those entrepreneurs and help them on their way.
