Why this is on the board

An animal welfare rule only protects an animal once there is an inspector enforcing it. As project leader you help decide how the NVWA, the Dutch food and product safety regulator, distributes its inspectors across Dutch slaughterhouses and how that supervision is organised. The ministry writes the rules themselves, but whether they really apply on the slaughter floor depends in part on choices like these.
