Why this is on the board
This directorate has existed since February 2026 and writes the frameworks for how the government handles data, AI, cloud and digital identity. It also decides which technology suppliers the state becomes dependent on, and those choices are fixed for years once the systems are in place. There is no separate minister for digital affairs and the portfolios are still being divided, so the judgement of a single manager carries more weight here than in an established directorate.

What do you make of this?
The board is still in beta, so this is exactly the moment to say what you think. A vacancy we have missed, a judgement you do not share, something that does not work — all of it helps.
