Why this is on the board
Here you start something new rather than fill a vacancy: you spend five days in San Francisco working out a plan for an unsolved problem in AI safety, and if BlueDot backs it, you get up to $200,000 to turn it into an organisation. The fifty previous participants together went on to raise more than $10 million from other funders, so one good plan can grow into work for many more people than just you, though far from every idea gets that far.
