Since February 2026 EZK, the Dutch economic affairs and climate ministry, has been responsible for AI and digitalisation policy, without a minister for digital affairs of its own. This role helps shape what ministers say about AI regulation and how that message reaches other governments and the public — one person at the controls of a message that reaches far beyond The Hague.
