FAR.AI tests AI models for OpenAI and carries out independent evaluations for, among others, the EU AI Office — but that research only changes something once policymakers and journalists understand it. With a team of four and a budget of $ 1 million per year, this role determines how that technical knowledge reaches them, at a moment when few people outside Silicon Valley have an overview of what is going on.
