Why this is on the board
In a major infectious disease outbreak, the Netherlands has to be able to scale up quickly. Whoever then decides on vaccinations or capacity depends on data that is already in order. This role builds that foundation now, in a new unit of the RIVM, the Dutch national public health institute, set up to organise that scale-up: you won't make those decisions yourself, but you will help determine how quickly and reliably others can make them when the time comes.
