Why this is on the board
When a new pathogen emerges, the RIVM, the Dutch national public health institute, can only respond as fast as its information systems allow. In this role you bring all of the institute's IT plans together in a single portfolio, and so help decide which systems get priority; you don't do the infectious disease work yourself, but you help lay the foundation it runs on.
