Why this is on the board
Which barn a livestock farmer may build depends partly on how the government assesses whether a technique genuinely emits less ammonia and methane. Such a barn lasts twenty to thirty years. In this role you work on a new assessment method that will determine how millions of pigs, chickens and cows are housed over the coming decades. Animal welfare is not the main aim, but emission requirements do help decide space, light and access to outdoor air.
